Since its creation in 2006, ORRAH, Organization de Rapprochement Aide Humanitaire, has been part of a development and solidarity approach in Haiti. It is actively involved in 9 of the 17 defined objectives, namely: human rights and the protection of the most vulnerable people, poverty, food insecurity, health, education, gender equality, inequalities , water and sanitation, peace and justice, and of course the collaborations and partnerships essential to the achievement of our objectives.
The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (UNDP) calls on all of us to “transform our world”. The Sustainable Development Goals are a global call to action to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all human beings live in peace and prosperity. (…) We must work together to achieve these ambitious goals. The creativity, know-how, technology and financial resources of the whole company will be needed to achieve the Goals in all contexts.
This Annual Report is the fruit of the work of the national coordination in office, and which I would like to thank for its invaluable work. This report is the result of an entire year of work, in which we have listened to our partners and stakeholders, spoken to those in need, reviewed our interventions, and considered how to improve our actions in the future. Our activities have been centered around three main axes:
- The human rights of the most vulnerable persons and groups: this involves promoting, ensuring and advancing respect for the rights of persons and groups in situations of vulnerability and exclusion; and to strengthen our expertise in terms of personal protection.
- Community-level peacebuilding: this involves promoting peace, preventing conflict and violence, strengthening communities and grassroots community organizations working for social cohesion.
- A more efficient organization: it is about striving for more performance, and making better use of
all of our resources. We will strengthen the organization and capacity of ORRAH. - I am proud to chair this organization which embodies the will to transform. Thank you to our members and employees for their commitment and the work done so far.
Renald SENEUS,
General manager.
